BHUTAN

Protected by the mighty Himalayas, Bhutan is known as the best and last Shangri-La. Perhaps the most mysterious and diverse of all the Himalayan kingdom lying between the India and the Tibetan region of China. Provided the essence of rich culture and a fascinating history. A traditional Buddhist culture has thrived in isolation from the rest of the world. The Bhutanese people protected this sacred heritage and unique identity for centuries. Because of a deep traditional reverence, which the Bhutanese have for nature, the kingdom is one of the leading countries in environmental preservation.

The name Bhutan appears to derive from the ancient Indian term Bhotana that means the end of the land of the Bhots - known as the last Mahayana Buddhist kingdom. One of the most striking physical features of Bhutan is its architecture. Visitors can trek, enjoy the culture, the intriguing religious festivals and the green and snow – clad mountainous scenery. Each part of the year has its special attractions and tourists can visit during any season. For spiritual experience, Bhutan is truly an unforgettable destination.
